I'm watching the last Heroes from a couple of weeks back and seriously? Did they use all the extra's from Chuck? Cause I'm pretty sure that two of the dudes in the comic bookstore work in the Buy More.

Also, STOP WITH THE "ZOMG A GIRL IN A COMIC BOOKSTORE!!1!!"-THING! For fucks sake! One time was more than enough. Girls buy comics, too! You would think that especially the people who make Heroes, who all seem firmly into comic books/graphic novels, would know better D:

So I saw Watchmen. And I really liked it. No real spoilers behind the cut (I think)

Dear Heroes,

Not all people who love/collect/buy comic books are boys.

No love,

I'm ridiculously excited about the upcoming Star Trek movie, and it doesn't even look that good. But I'm rewatching the old series and the new trailer has one of the best things ever that I put behind a cut to avoid spoiling anyone who doesn't want to be spoiled )

Did I mention yet that SIMON PEGG is in it as well??? *g*

And something completely unrelated to Star Trek (although there will be a comic as well): this is absolutely ridiculous. They could arrest me as well then, cause I'm sure there is some wrong stuff to be found in my comic collection...

They are going to turn The Stand (un-cut) by Stephen King into a 30 issue comic book!

The Stand. UN-CUT! I never understood the hatred for the un-cut version. I've only read that one and I think it's perfect. I just can't imagine them cutting it out, cause the whole wandering thing belongs in it.

30 issues isn't much, though. And if they are going to ruin my favourite characters I might cry a bit (NICK! Tom Cullen! Trashy! Fran! Stuart!). On the other hand, the Dark Tower comics are brilliant, so who knows?
ringlunatic: (Calvin & Hobbes)
Yesterday I bought the comic version of The Dark Tower (The Gunslinger Born) by Stephen King about Roland, Alain and Cuthbert (oh, why aren't you a real person?) as described in Wizard and Glass and it's definitely a thing of beauty. I love these books SO much. Must re-read them soon. I wish there would be more. I wish they would turn Susannah and Eddie into comic book figures as well. My love for them will never end.

ETA: OMGFTW!!! THERE IS A SECOND SERIES! AND THREE VOLUMES ARE OUT ALREADY! I'm sooo out of the loop!
ringlunatic: (TMB!Hold me)
Seriously, how cute is this?

For everyone with a vague appreciation for graphic novels: PLEASE pick up Y: The Last Man by Brain K. Vaughan. Now all the 60 issues are out so the cliffhangers won't hurt as bad as they did me.

(And if you would doubt the awesomeness that is Brain K. Vaughan... remember when Lost suddenly got good again in season 3? Yeah, he joined the script team. Also, he owns a dachshund. I rest my case.)

Now spoilers for the ending.
